GridForge is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your data belongs to you, and we've designed our application to minimize data collection and keep everything local to your device.

What We Collect

Nothing Sent to Our Servers

GridForge operates entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following to our servers:

  • Paper template settings or configurations
  • PDF files you generate
  • Personal information
  • Usage patterns or behavior data
  • IP addresses (beyond standard web server logs)

Local Browser Storage Only

The only data stored related to your use of GridForge remains in your browser's local storage:

  • Last used settings for each paper type (e.g., grid size, paper size, line color)
  • Saved presets if you create custom configurations
  • UI preferences such as default paper size or measurement units

This data:

  • Never leaves your device
  • Can be cleared at any time through your browser settings
  • Is not accessible to us or any third parties
  • Persists only for your convenience on future visits

How GridForge Works

Client-Side PDF Generation

All PDF generation happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript:

  • No files are uploaded to our servers
  • No templates are stored on our servers
  • Your customizations never leave your device
  • Downloaded PDFs are created locally and saved directly to your computer

Third-Party Services

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. This service:

  • Does not use cookies
  • Does not track individual users
  • Does not collect personal information
  • Provides only aggregate statistics

Hosting

GridForge is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard web server logs for security and performance monitoring. We do not access or use these logs for tracking individual users.

Data Retention

Since we don't collect data on our servers, there is nothing to retain. Your data stays on your device and automatically disappears if you clear your browser storage.

Your Rights

Because all data stays on your device:

  • Access: Your data is in your browser's localStorage
  • Deletion: Clear your browser's localStorage or site data
  • Control: You have complete control over your data at all times
